Facilities on the beach

Amager Strand serves a densely populated area and is extremely popular in the summer. On the island there is four beach stations placed on central locations along the coastline. They are small buildings made out of concrete. Each station has toilet facilities, showers and an ice cream bar. The roof of the beach station also functions as a viewpoint.

Parking spaces
On the southern beach there is an automobile bridge leading to the southern area of the island. The island has 333 parking spaces.

Life guard
Four indicated beach area's are monitored by 8 lifeguards all days from 10 AM to 6 PM during the schools’ summer holiday (1. may - 31 August). In case of accidents please approach the lifeguards for help.

The lifeguards’ requests to the public must be complied with. Keep an eye on the lifeguards’ signal flag on the beach:

How to get to Amager Beach: Click for map!

From the city center it takes only 7 minutes to go to Amager Beach by Metro. If you go directly from the airport, the traveltime is 3 minutes. The Beach is situated along Amager Strandvej in Copenhagen. You can easily get there by bike from the center of the city. Or take the Metro to one of three stations: Øresund, Amager Strand or Femøren and then walk only 5 minutes to the beach.
